Directional sliding aid for a more stable sitting position

The Immedia OneWayGlide sliding cushion supports individuals who tend to slide forward while sitting in a wheelchair or chair. The special material construction allows for controlled movement back towards the backrest, while making it difficult to slide forward again unintentionally. This helps to maintain a more stable sitting position and reduces friction in the buttock and tailbone area caused by repeated sliding.

The product family includes single-layer pads and double-layer continuous tubes. The double-layer models have a sliding nylon surface on the inside, allowing the material layers to move against each other. After repositioning, the design acts as an anti-slip barrier in the opposite direction. Depending on their strength, users can help with the repositioning themselves or be assisted by a caregiver.

For different seating surfaces, velour and non-slip versions are available. Velour is suitable for surfaces where the material can find sufficient grip. The non-slip models have a more slip-resistant contact side and are therefore particularly useful on smooth seating surfaces.

The long OneWayGlide Long versions measure 130 cm each and offer additional options for assisted repositioning. Depending on the variant, handles or fastening straps are available. These can be particularly useful if a caregiver needs to move the user further back into the chair in a controlled manner.

According to Etac, all current OneWayGlide versions are intended for a maximum user weight of 150 kg. Depending on the model, the material combination includes polyester, velour, nylon, padding material, or a non-slip surface.

For hygienic reprocessing, the products can be machine washed at up to 80 °C and dried at a low temperature of up to 60 °C, according to Etac. Ironing is possible at up to 110 °C and can support the function of the sliding surfaces. Bleaching and dry cleaning are not permitted. Alternatively, the product can be wiped clean with a solvent-free cleaner in the pH range of 5 to 9 or a 70 percent disinfectant solution.
