Flexible transfer aid for safe seated transfers

The Immedia E-Board transfer board supports people with limited mobility with seated transfers between different seating and lying surfaces. The thin and flexible construction bridges the gap between, for example, a bed, wheelchair, chair, toilet, shower chair, or car seat, and can thereby facilitate a controlled lateral transfer.

The 6 mm thick sliding board is made of durable polyethylene and provides a smooth surface for the transfer. All versions are suitable for a user weight of up to 150 kg. Thanks to different lengths and widths, the E-Board can be selected to suit the specific transfer situation.

The compact S version measuring 45 × 20 cm is particularly suitable for smaller users and is also recommended by Etac for children. The M model measuring 60 × 25 cm offers more transfer surface and is suitable for numerous everyday transfer situations.

The larger models L and XL feature flexible side wings. These can be bent upwards or downwards, allowing for adaptation to the specific situation. An upturned wing can provide additional lateral guidance and serve as a boundary to the wheelchair wheel. The L model measures 60 × 33 cm, while the longer XL model at 75 × 33 cm can bridge larger gaps.

An integrated carrying and positioning handle facilitates handling. The low profile also makes the E-Board practical for travel and allows for space-saving storage on or behind the wheelchair.

For an independent transfer, the user should have sufficient arm and trunk strength as well as good sitting balance. Depending on mobility, the transfer board can alternatively be used during an assisted transfer with a caregiver. The individual transfer situation should be assessed prior to use.

For hygienic cleaning, Etac recommends a solvent-free cleaning agent with a pH of 5 to 9 or a 70 percent disinfectant solution. The E-Board should then be wiped clean.
